Outreach
The Outreach Programs at A Safe Place increase opportunities for victim identification and assistance. Our Jail Outreach Program offers women who have been trafficked or commercially sexually exploited the chance to learn about the programs and services at A Safe Place. This effort guides them on discussing their concerns in a safe and confidential environment, while teaching them life skills topics related to their specific needs. This program has become an important component of ASP, as some of our referrals have actually originated from the women who have attended the class. Our Hotel/Motel Outreach allows staff to work closely with hotel and motel staff, training them on how to make a difference when confronted with trafficking on-site. Our staff and volunteers help with Business Outreach by asking local businesses and community partners to display our response line number, stickers and other outreach materials. We offer survivors an emergency bag with personal hygiene items, gift cards and other necessity items and let them know we are always here for them.
